This article explains how to manage project schedule changes effectively in Xenia Nexus. You will learn when changes take effect, how they impact existing tasks, and best practices for updating schedules.
1. Understand Project Schedule Change Timing
When Changes Apply
All project schedule changes are forward-looking. Already-generated tasks are not affected.
| Change Type | Takes Effect |
|---|---|
| Cadence change (daily → weekly) | Next generation cycle after saving |
| Start/due time change | Next task generated after saving |
| Adding a location | New schedule begins from current date — no backfilling |
| Removing a location | Future generation stops; existing tasks remain |
| Template change (attaching a different template) | Next task generated after saving |
In-progress tasks that employees have already started continue with the previous configuration until they submit.
Best practice: Make schedule changes during low-traffic periods (overnight, end of day) so no tasks are actively in progress when the change takes effect.
