This article explains why tasks may show as overdue even when employees report completion. You'll learn how to interpret task statuses and understand common reasons behind overdue indications.
1. The Explanation
If the submission is recorded: The task was submitted after the due time. Xenia records this as Completed Late — a distinct status from Completed On Time. This is expected behavior. Both are visible in reporting but in separate buckets.
If no submission is recorded: The employee may have tapped Go Back (saving progress) rather than Submit. An In Progress checklist that was exited without submitting becomes Overdue after the due time passes.
Check: Operations → Projects → find the project → Tasks tab → find the specific task → look at status and whether any submission timestamp is recorded.
This article clarifies why tasks may appear overdue despite employee completion. It explains late completion reporting, missing submissions, and the effect of using the go back button. For more information, see related task management articles.
