I Resent an Invite — Is the Old Link Still Active?

This tutorial guides you through managing user access and status settings within the Xenia application. You will learn how to navigate the interface to update user roles and statuses effectively.

1. The Explanation

When you resend an invite to a user, both the original link and the new link remain active. Resending does not invalidate or deactivate the previous invite.

This means:

  • If the user clicks either link before either one expires, both will work
  • If you need to prevent a user from accepting an older invite for any reason, be aware that resending alone does not cancel the previous one

Practical implication for most admins: This is rarely a problem. In the common scenario — a user didn't receive or acted too slowly on the original invite — simply resending works fine. Both links lead to the same account setup. Once the user accepts either link and creates their account, neither link can be used again.

2. What This Means in Practice

ScenarioWhat Happens
User clicks original link before it expiresWorks — account created
User clicks new link after resendWorks — account created
User clicks old link after resendAlso works — neither link is invalidated by resending
User has already accepted one linkThe other link can no longer be used (account already exists)
Original link has expiredUse the new link — the expired one will show a blank/error screen

3. If You Need to Remove a User's Access

Resending an invite does not affect an already-active account. If you need to remove someone's access to the workspace, go to Settings → Users → three dots → Delete to deactivate their account regardless of invite status.
You have successfully managed user access and updated status settings within Xenia. These steps ensure proper user role assignments and status configurations for effective application management.
